Professional Background
An Overview With 20 plus years of manufacturing, management and consulting experience, I have developed a diversified technical background, and my experience spans many manufacturing and service sectors. For more details, click here I have an acute sense of people and processes, and how the two must fit together to create an efficient and effective workflow. This ability, coupled with my engineering expertise, has proven to be extremely beneficial to companies that need facilitation in implementing productivity improvement projects. I have extensive knowledge and experience in Total Quality Management, cycle time reduction, ISO 9000, re-engineering, plant and program management, new systems development, international business, and proficient management techniques. I have written articles and delivered classroom lectures on these and similar topics. My accomplishments and measurable results in these areas have been many. I saved one company $1.8 Million by incorporating good manufacturing practices into their operations; created a management tool, the Action Item Matrix (AIM), which is being used by numerous companies to navigate their way through complex projects; and reduced cycle time from raw materials to finished goods by 25% across 40% of company brands, which increased their capacity by 30%. In addition, I have integrated manufacturing engineering, information technology and financial management in areas such as Kaizen, GMP, JIT, SPC, MRP/MRP-II, CIM, IBS, performance measurement systems and cellular manufacturing.
While consulting, I have completed international and domestic
engagements with European and American firms, at times serving as
project manager, facilitator, trainer, project engineer and analyst,
while responsible for services in the areas of production, office
and overall operational improvements, site analysis, and numerous
other continuous improvement-related areas. I have served as coach
to companies cross-functional improvement teams comprised of people
from the shop floor, supervisors and managers and helped these
groups to achieve their goals and objectives.
I am a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), and I have
completed the RAB's lead auditor program certification as a Quality
Manager. I have an MBA with Distinction from Adelphi University, and
a BS in Industrial Engineering from Drexel University. I have served
as a Captain in the United States Army Reserves & Army National
Guard until 1993 when I received an honorable discharge. I am an
adjunct faculty member for the Defense Equal Opportunity Management
Institute, and I am fluent in Italian and can converse in Spanish.
